Short, short drabbles for all pairings.N/A:
Oh, hello! Longtime no see, huh? Anyway, this is just a thing I decided to make for Christmas and give a (very) small gift to the lovers of every and each pairing of U-Kiss. It is
a little meh :/, but I hope you like it either way, everyone : D
Alexander sighs, exhausted and annoyed, and whines that he’s too old for this, but Dongho, pink and green teddy bears under his arm, simply grabs his hand with an only slightly sadistic smile and guides him through the arcade to another game – he wants a blue plushie too. Alexander whimpers while playing but, and he has to admit, Dongho’s smiling face as he squeezes the small blue bear is enough a reward for him.
Eli jokes around so much Alexander almost doesn’t believe him whenever he says “I love you”; yet the way their lips brush together softly before fully meeting tells him maybe he should give the boy some credit.
Kevin doesn’t need Alexander’s protection or Alexander’s lame jokes or Alexander’s sweet nothings, he just needs Alexander
and wishes he’d be able to say that out loud some day or other.
Kibum can take it when they say Alexander is cute and funny and sweet and such a nice kid; he thinks they wouldn’t have ways to know better since he’s the only one onto whose lap Alexander crawls in the dark of night, the only one who hears Alexander’s moans and mewls and dirty, dirty
whispers. He doesn’t plan on letting them know anyway.
“I don’t think I have what it takes,” is all Kiseop is able to say and he’s right on the verge of giving up, of breaking down completely when, “I don’t think you acknowledge what you do have,” is all Alexander says before lacing slim arms around his waist.
Alexander and Soohyun are inseparable – nothing anyone knows. Soohyun is stunning – nothing anyone will admit to know. Soohyun was born a star – nothing anyone doesn’t know already. Alexander believes he has a star crush – nothing anyone will ever come to know.
“Does hyung hate
me? Does hyung want me to shut up
?” Dongho asks and pouts when receives a glare from Eli, “what, I’m trying to work a taboo out here,” he raises his hands, but the other boy is impassive, “ugh, whatever,” he shrugs and crosses his arms only to hiss loudly when Eli suddenly reaches for his hair and pulls
, making their faces meet. “Maybe hyung should punish his bad dongsaeng,” Eli smirks and Dongho groans his agreement.
Kevin sees Dongho as his own personal doll – he dresses him up, combs his hair, pulls his cheeks and sits him on his lap, hugging him dearly, hugging his real-sized doll; Dongho doesn’t complain but does believe, he thinks happily as Kevin goes to buy him more Peppero boxes, that probably Kevin doesn’t truly understand who’s playing the doll character in the end.
Dongho insists that he does know, that he is old enough, that he does not need help with that, thank you very much, he has hands. He groans impatiently when people call him a kid, he rolls his eyes when told he can’t stay out late, he sulks when everyone treats like a three-year-old. Yet, he secretly loves it when Kibum pulls him onto his chest and asks how his maknae is feeling today. He pouts and says he’s not very well just so Kibum will give him his entire attention – being the youngest one can be convenient sometimes.
Kiseop rubs his feet against the sand, feels it scratch, with that light tickling sensation, his skin. He loves that feeling, he loves the sun burning his skin, he loves the soft breeze and the smell of Sunday morning beach. He wiggles his toes and lets them create odd patterns on the sand. It’s all very nice, but he enjoys it a lot better when Dongho’s feet are over his as Kiseop tries walking them both only to lose balance after a while. They share a laugh and a glance, and Dongho rubs his feet against Kiseop’s leisurely. It’s easily better than sand.
Don’t you ever doubt? Doubt what? Us. Us? Me
. (A pause.) What is there to doubt? You know (he looks away), this difference between you and me. What, the age gap? (The younger boy remains silent.) I don’t. No? No. It doesn’t bother you? Not at all. “Not at all,” you say. Yes, I do say; you know why? (Another pause. The older boy takes the other one’s hand.) There’s much more in you than what the world knows. (Silence.) But when you blush like that, you do look like a little girl. Shut up
At first sight, Kevin and Eli may be the ideal couple – Eli plays the boy role while Kevin is the perfect girlfriend, and everyone assumes their relationship is all flowers. As Kevin slams the door on his face with a particularly nasty swear, Eli gives himself the right to disagree. He kicks the door and storms out. Although it does suck at the moment and he does think it’s too hard to keep on, he knows that, when Kevin calls and mutters “you’re an idiot,” in a soft tone in a few days, it’ll be worth it. It’s not ideal, but it’s worth it all the same.
Please don’t take it the wrong way, but sometimes I just really want to kiss you. Kibum is the one to say it. Eli just blinks and I beg your pardon? but Kibum shrugs and repeats it. They stay in an uncomfortable silence for a while until Kibum stresses that he shouldn’t take it the wrong way, he’s just being honest. It is stupid, he chuckles weakly, it has probably something to do with the way Eli licked his lips when distracted, but that shouldn’t- Kibum gasps when Eli pecks him. Oh. Oh, ok. Eli snickers and asks him if he took it the right way. He openly laughs when Kibum nods fast, really fast.
Eli doesn’t get it when Kiseop tells him he’s working hard to be more like him. He’d been working out hard on his arms so they’d be as big as Eli’s, he trains his rapping so he’d sound more like Eli, he tries moving differently while dancing so it’d look more like the way Eli does it. Eli just plainly doesn’t get it because Kiseop is already perfect, why would he want to change at all?
Soohyun is like an older brother in the way he always had Eli’s back, no matter how tired he was when Eli asked him for help with those tricky steps, no matter how late it was when Eli called him for help. Soohyun is like a mother in the way he asks Eli if he’s eating well and why Eli is looking that skinny these days. Soohyun is like a high school crush in the way he always makes Eli blush and stutter like a girl whenever he smiles one of those
smiles at Eli. Soohyun is also like an idiot in the way he mocks Eli for blushing and stuttering like a girl.
They don’t need reassurance, they don’t need confirmation, they don’t need doubts, they don’t need words at all. Just the fact they’re Kibum and Kevin
is enough to state anything.
What Kiseop likes the most in Kevin is that he takes him seriously. When he tells a story and everyone will just give him unsure looks and doubt if he’s telling it right at all, Kevin will be looking attentively at him, carefully listening to his every word. Kevin never objects, Kevin never narrows his eyes. Kiseop feels free to talk to him and likes the way he never has to say that it’s really true, you guys
. He smiles when Kevin seriously debates whatever he’d just talked about with him. However, he doesn’t really wish the guys were like Kevin – if they were, he wouldn’t have an excuse to talk alone with him.
There’s a competition between Kevin and Soohyun. Soohyun (or anyone else, for that matter) isn’t aware at all, but Kevin is determined not to lose. He trains and trains harder, his voice gets hoarse sometimes and Soohyun tells him to take it easy, they need their best singer after all. Kevin just stares at him blankly – Soohyun isn’t aware, but Kevin is determined not to lose to his biggest idol.
“You know, the age difference between us isn’t that big,” Kiseop blurts out with a frown. Kibum eyes him amusedly, “no, it isn’t.” Kiseop gapes, “if you do realize that, then why do you order me around so much?” Kibum laughs and offers the boy a pitying gaze, “because you could never control me
, could you?” and he pinches his cheeks. There’s a pause in which Kiseop furrows his eyebrows and Kibum sighs contently. “Well, I might just try, from now on,” he finally says and enjoys the shock on Kibum’s face. He might just try.
Soohyun is drunk when he tells Kibum he likes him the best. Kibum raises an eyebrow and tells him to just go to the shower already, it’ll be bad if anyone sees him like that. Soohyun creates a firm grip around his wrist and pulls him closer, arm locking Kibum’s waist. They both blush and Kibum thinks they’re such girls
. I like you the best out of the whole world
, the older boy explains when their noses touch. Kibum chuckles and says he smells like beer, but doesn’t protest when he leans forward and kisses him.
Just a regular phone conversation, Kiseop thinks. How was your day? Yes, true, our schedules haven’t matched for a while. Um? Go out? Like, the two of us? No, I’m not unwilling, it’s just- No, hyung, I don’t mind at all. Wait, what? No, I won’t forget it, you just said you miss me. You did! I will tease you forever for this. Ok. I mean ok, let’s go. I’m serious, let’s go! Then I’ll see you Thursday. It’s a date. I did not just giggle, hyung. Time to hang up. I said, time to hang up
. Ugh- BYE. Kiseop ends the call with a roll of eyes but smiles anyway. Maybe the next phone conversation would be a little less regular.
