Mia challenged me to write Soobum, so I did just to prove that I can't. This is lame, not finished, and. Lame. Laaaame.
Soohyun liked his job for two reasons.
First reason: the building where he worked was fair, had big windows and a fresh appearance. It relaxed him. Better to work inside a shoe box, like certain friends of his.
Second and most important reason: people there respected him. He liked being recognized for his hard job – working there, he occupied one of the highest charges of the place, and people were friendly to him. He felt like his years of hard work were finally paying off.
“Good morning, Junsu sshi,” he greeted the janitor as he walked along the hallway, ready for a brand new day.
“Good morning, Soohyun sshi,” the man greeted back with a smile. “Oh, a young man passed by me earlier asking for your office. Is him your new secretary?”
Oh. He had completely forgotten the new guy was arriving that day. Soohyun’s previous secretary – a young lady named Jungah who was always very nice – had resigned in order to get married, leaving him a bit overloaded by work. To his big relief, a friend of him knew someone apparently perfect for the job, and the person intended to show up as soon as possible.
“Probably yes,” Soohyun answered, imagining what kind of guy could his possibly new secretary be. “I got to go, Junsu sshi, he must be waiting for me. See you!”
And rushed to his office, waving to the janitor.
When he arrived his room, he quickly spotted who could be the said guy: a young man with pitch black hair, wearing fancy clothes and sitting on a chair near to Soohyun’s room, facing the nothing. Soohyun didn’t expect to see someone so young. He looked, what, twenty-one?
“Hello,” Soohyun called the guy softly, apparently waking him up from his reverie. Was him always so pale or was he nervous?, Soohyun wondered. “Can I help you?”
“Hm, are you Shin Soohyun sshi?” the man asked with a surprisingly confident voice. Soohyun nodded, and the man got on his feet, bowing. “Hello. I’m Kim Kibum, the one who applied to be your secretary.”
“Ah, nice to meet you, Kim Kibum sshi,” Soohyun shook his hand. “Please, come in with me and I’ll explain everything about the job to you.”
Ah, Soohyun barely knew what he was diving in.
Soohyun liked Kibum for three reasons.
First reason: he was really responsible and serious when it was about work.
Second reason: when it was not about work, he was the complete opposite. He had a sharp sense of humor and a hilarious laugh that lightened up anyone’s day.
Third reason: Soohyun doesn’t actually need a third reason to like the kid.
“I knew you’d go along well with him,” the friend who had appointed Kibum to him – a foreigner sub-manager named Kim Elison – said during a coffee break, a week after Kibum’s hiring. “He’s an O type.”
Soohyun looked at his friend strangely.
“An O type?” he repeated, trying to milk out some meaning of that. “What do you mean.”
“Blood types, hyung,” Eli (as everybody called him) answered as if it was the most obvious thing on the world. “You’re A type, right? I saw in your records.”
“Have you been spying on me?” Soohyun laughed at Eli’s strange antics.
“No, I was just curious,” the guy shrugged. “But well! They say A’s and O’s go along well. Just look at us, I’m O too.”
Soohyun laughed at him again, hiding his face with the coffee mug. His eyes traveled a bit along the hallway until the saw Kibum, who was talking to some other secretaries, and the man looked at him too. They faced each other for a moment, until Kibum’s face broke in a secretive smile and he looked away to tell some joke to one of the ladies. Soohyun kept looking.
“People also say sex between A’s and O’s is usually particularly steamy,” Eli shocked him with this sentence, which made him turn to him with wide eyes. “And I’m not hitting on you.”
While his friend is cackling like a evil witch and going back to his office, Soohyun wonders why, why he feels a third reason grow inside of him and feels it’s not something he should go around and tell people.
After weeks of visibly forming tension – the looks, the devilish smiles, and he even licked his lips quite indecently, the tease – Kibum finally breaks it by saying one simple sentence.
“You’re handsome, hyung,” he says, eyeing him that way, speaking much lower than he needed to. “I think so, really.”
They were just talking about marriage, about Soohyun’s previous secretary, and Soohyun was already feeling mentally strained, trying to stop himself from doing something (not so) bad. He tried to disguise his nervousness by saying he was not handsome enough to get married someday, and then Kibum dropped the bomb.
Soohyun didn’t jump on him. No. He was able to just look at Kibum half-shocked, half-embarrassed and try to say something, but he was on his very limit.
Kibum wasn’t satisfied, obviously.
He just advanced on Soohyun, quick as a fox, and pecked his lips with the most indecent kiss that can exist without a tongue. Using the late hour as a cue, the bastard.
“You’re A type, aren’t you hyung?” The secretary asked, now without masks and looking at Soohyun with eyes that could kill. “People says sex between A types and O types is quite steamy.”
Soohyun said fuck it to the ethics and pushed Kibum to under the desk.
Third reason why he loved his work.
His young, cheeky, hot secretary.
